After years of intensive collaboration, Sports & Playgrass and HomeGrass are taking an important next step. As of January 2026, the two companies, both well-established in the artificial grass industry, will officially continue under one joint private LLC: The Grass Collective.
The merger marks a new phase for the organizations, which have collaborated closely for many years. With the full acquisition of HomeGrass and the relocation of the company to the new building in Geffen, situated across from Sports & Playgrass, a strong, integrated organization is created, bringing everything related to artificial grass together under one roof.
“In reality, not much will change for our customers,” says Mark Verhagen, co-owner of Sports & Playgrass and HomeGrass. “Our brands and services will remain as people are used to. What will change is that behind the scenes we’ll be working together even more efficiently. This will allow us to serve our customers even better—with one strong commercial team, larger stock, and shorter lines of communication.”
Co-owner Tobi Pennings also sees major advantages in joining forces:
“With The Grass Collective, we are building on the foundation we’ve laid over the past ten years. Whether it concerns supply, installation, or advice—we will soon be able to respond even more effectively to the diverse needs of our customers. Think of wholesale clients who want to make use of our installation service or technical support, or project clients who benefit directly from our extensive stock and logistical capabilities.”
The names Sports & Playgrass and HomeGrass will remain active as brands in the market. The Grass Collective will serve as the unifying entity that combines the strengths of both labels.
“We see this as a very natural next step,” Mark concludes. “We’ve shared the same vision for years, work with the same people, and have the same passion for service and quality. By bringing everything under one roof, we’re creating an even stronger foundation for the future. For our customers, our partners, and our team.”
The relocation of HomeGrass to Geffen is planned for the Christmas holiday period of 2025. Starting January 5, 2026, both brands will officially operate as one new company from the location at Het Geffens Veld.
